Travelling abroad during the holidays.

Travelling abroad during the holidays.

Lots of people take holidays during the December time, it’s perfect because flights will get cheaper to fill them up over Christmas Day/Boxing Day, the airports won’t be so busy and everyone will generally be in a cheery mood. However, travelling abroad at this time was always strange for me; suddenly your traditions are switched. You might be eating lobster or sushi instead of turkey on Christmas Day! My family has never been particularly religious, nor have we ever celebrated a holiday in any religious way so we don’t go to church. We do have traditions though, being brought up in the UK we have always celebrated Christmas holiday. We eat turkey, beef, lamb with all the trimmings, open presents in the morning and spend the day together doing something...

Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland

Christmas is over. It’s official. We are now in 2012 and it’s another whole 350 something days until we can stuff our faces and cross our fingers for snow. During this wintery season however I  took a lovely trip out to Hyde Park in Central London to visit Winter Wonderland. Every year I try to get out and visit one of the winter attractions, last year it was the Christmas Market on Southbank. I chose Winter Wonderland this year because I’d had reports from friends that it was great and I’d be missing out If I didn’t go. Here are some of the things I liked and didn’t like about the attraction.. Positives of Winter Wonderland: The smells coming from the market area were amazing, Cinnamon, Spiced Apple and Vanilla!...

For some,...

Ten Things I Love About London!

Ten Things I Love About London!

I live in London and it’s a city that seems to grow and get better before my eyes everyday!  Although I write about the city a lot I have never written my top ten things to love about London so here goes.. Number One: The Shopping. Of course most of our shopping centres don’t have champagne bars but one of our newest ones does. Westfield houses a truck load of shops, including some very expensive ones which surround the champagne bar and some less high end ones which take up the rest of the building. Even though I had no money to buy anything in this part of the centre it was still pretty to walk through! Number Two:  The Theatre.   We have an abundance of theatres strewn all over London, they show Musicals to Shakespearean plays so...

Building Your Own Itinerary

Building Your Own Itinerary

Bulding an itinerary can be a daunting task, sometimes you don’t know where to start. You may think it’s one of those things that takes up to much of your time, but the great thing is you can fit it around you. That’s exactly what an Itinerary is and what it does. It structures your holiday/trip so that your not just wandering around missing all the things the country has to offer. First of all you need to decide what type of holiday you’re embarking on. Will you be adventuring into the wilderness. Are you taking the kids to a few theme parks. Is the history your main interest? Whatever the holiday you can build the Itinerary around it. For example, Trip to Finland is a travelling holiday, most of the time we’ll be on the rails....
