2012, London Olympics

Today the full schedule for the London Olympic games was released. After listening to the radio for a little while I though this would be a good subject for a post.

As usual the Olympics cover a huge spectrum of sports:

  • Archery
  • Athletics
  • Badminton
  • Basketball
  • Beach Volleyball
  • Boxing
  • Canoeing
  • Cycling (Including BMX, Road, Mountain bike, Track)
  • Diving
  • Equestrian
  • Fencing
  • Football
  • Gymnastics
  • Handball
  • Hockey
  • Judo
  • Modern Pentathlon
  • Rowing
  • Sailing
  • Shooting
  • Swimming
  • Synchronised swimming
  • Table Tennis
  • Taekwondo
  • Tennis
  • Triathlon
  • Volleyball
  • Water Polo
  • Weightlifting
  • Wrestling – Freestyle
  • Wrestling – Greco-Roman

Of course holding all these wonderful events in the same place at the same time would cause a few congestion problems, so they are spread out. For some, such as the football events you might have to travel as far as Scotland as Wales to see some of the matches but others are being held in some of the most entertaining places London has to offer!

To make the Olympics easier to navigate I’ve created a map to help you out.
Pink Pins: Contact Sports
Purple Pins: Team Sports
Green Pins: Solo sport events, such as Shooting/Archery
Yellow Pins: Racquet Sport
Red Pins: Athletics
The others on the map are pretty self explanatory. Bike pin means Cycling, Swimming Pin means Swimming. :)
More post later about the Olympics, Enjoy the map :)

Unfortunately not, I’m hoping to go to some of the other events in London during the Olympics and I’ll be watching it on TV of course!
